What we collect, and what we do with it

Last updated 2026-09-06

This policy covers signal.theregistry.group, an operations tool run by The Registry for its own property-services work in South Cook County, Illinois, and the Registry Signal alerts SMS program.

Accounts

The site has no public sign-up. Accounts are created by the administrator for the operator and designated staff. An account holds a name, an email address and a password hash. Login sessions use a cookie required to keep you signed in; there are no advertising or third-party analytics cookies.

Property records

The site displays public property records published by Cook County (assessor, recorder and parcel data) and the operator's own notes about contacts made at those properties. It does not collect information from the public through the site.

Mobile numbers and text messages

A mobile number is collected only when its owner texts START to the program number, and it is used only to deliver Registry Signal alerts. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Numbers are not sold, rented or shared for any purpose other than delivering the messages you opted in to, through our messaging provider (Twilio) acting on our behalf.

Message frequency: at most one text per day, when the morning's work sheet is written, and none on days it is not. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel at any time and HELP for help; see the program notice for the full opt-in and opt-out instructions.

Retention

Contact notes and message delivery records are kept as the operation's business records. A number that texts STOP is blocked from further sends immediately; email ipierce@theregistry.group to have it removed from the configuration entirely.
